Celebrating achievements of persons with epilepsy

We are so used to receiving bad news and hearing heartbreaking stories that we hardly ever get the chance to hear and talk about the good things in life. Epilepsy South Africa wants to change this with their national awareness campaign “Celebrating Achievements”. With this campaign people with or affected by epilepsy are encouraged to share their good news stories and achievements.

Pat Pillai, etv Prime Time News Anchor and Founder and CEO of Life College, is the Face of the Celebrating Achievements campaign. Pat was diagnosed with epilepsy when he was a teenager and says that over the years, he has learned to live with it and understand the triggers. Says Pillai:

“I don’t want any special treatment and favours because of my epilepsy. I’m a professional and I’m proud to be part of such a great team.”

People with epilepsy or who are affected by it can share their journey with epilepsy and the obstacles they have overcome by simply posting their story (maximum of 500 words) on the blog page.
