Some of our achievements

EPILEPSY SA WENT TO NORWAY

Rotary International sponsored a Medical team from South Africa to a Rotary District in Norway on a study exchange program in September 2011.  Our registered nurse, Nellian van Niekerk, was selected to participate in the program.  It is the first time in Epilepsy SA history that a personnel member got selected for such an exchange program.

FOOD SECURITY

2011 - A wonderful achievement was that two of our garden projects achieved well in a competition for the Female Entrepreneur Award Competition 2010 hosted by the Department of Agriculture.  Coptic Vegetable Project won in the category of a Small Holder Entrepreneur and Basadi Kopanag Vegetable Project won as Best Subsistence Farmer.

2012 - Three projects were entered in the Female entrepreneur competition hosted by Department of Agriculture and won in the following categories:

  • Basadi Kopanang:  Runner-up Top Entrepreneur processing.
  • Coptic:  Runner-up Top Smallholder producer
  • Schonkenville Luncheon Club:  Winner Best Subsistence producer.

COMMUNITY BUILDER OF THE YEAR - 2011

Our Director, Gary Westwood, was honoured to be awarded the title, 'Community Builder of the Year - 2011' by the Lusa Community Chest. This was a highlight of his many years in the Non Profit Field!!
